CONFERENCE GOALS
To facilitate an environment in which networking exchange fosters:
Ø learning about new developments in HIV and STD prevention, care and treatment;
Ø discussing cutting-edge strategies and applications that are responsive to the needs of individuals and communities;
Ø discovering current and emerging policy issues and trends and their relationship to education, prevention and care;
Ø developing the skills needed to address the multidimensional factors that influence behavior and risk reduction efforts;
Ø exchanging personal and community resources for professional and lay caregivers; and,
Ø engaging in networking exchange with more than 400 conference attendees and exhibitors.

This conference is designed for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, other clinicians, HIV/STD educators, social workers, other health professionals, service providers, teachers, students, people living with HIV and all interested community members. The overall goal of this interdisciplinary conference is to provide an opportunity for professionals and community members to dialogue and share past successes, common concerns, and hopes for the future. In response to the overlapping epidemics of HIV and STDs, it is essential to build on prevention, treatment, and care strategies that have been successful.

CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the conference, participants will be able to:
Ø describe HIV/STD prevention methods associated with risk behaviors, target populations or emerging trends in their community;
Ø identify effective prevention interventions;
Ø identify strategies to enhance comprehensive HIV and/or STD care, including education, counseling, screening and treatment; and
Ø identify challenges to the integration of prevention, intervention, clinical services and resources that support them.
